WIN RIVER 125 OPEN SHOW
The start of the Win River 125 saw the 18-car field get away smoothly, Eric Gannon established himself as all drivers marked time by clicking off laps. Early favorite Steven Gannon exited with brake problems. The race was smooth to the half way point when after a caution period defending champion Randy Houston masterfully displaced Gannon for the lead. The next 30 laps were ‘jockey’ time as many fast favorites were through saving tires and shifted into full race mode. Kyle Cattanach, Howard Ford, and Mike Doss started the charge to the front. An extended caution for the #90 of Trevor Christiani allowed the field to bunch up behind the #9 veteran from Cottonwood who calls Medford, OR home now. With 20 to go after the restart it became evident that Cattanach and Doss were the fastest cars on the track. Howard Ford and Cattanach bumped with the #20 cow car spinning, eliminating his chance for victory. In just a few more circuits the #15 of Mike Doss passed Houston entering turn three on the outside and completed it on the next lap exiting turn two. With ten to go David Miller and Eric Graham hit the ‘go’ button. At the finish it was Mike Doss winning at SRP for the first time over Cattanach, Houston, Miller, Graham, Ford, Midgely, David Braund, Victor Pfluger, and Brandon Carlson. It was an emotional victory lane celebration for Doss who started the weekend without a ride. Kudos were given to Lovell, Roddy, crew chief Dale Dodd, and son Jeremy for making the win possible.
