Mauck Returns to Victory Lane at Deming Speedway

Submitted by Kaleb Hart

Northwest Propane Night at Deming Speedway saw Kelly Mauck return to victory lane after a two year absence. Other main event winners included Steven Hendrickson, Spencer Constance and Lynden Lebedinski.

Kelly Mauck found redemption on Friday night in the Speedmart Hoosier 600 division. After visiting victory lane once early in his career, Mauck has been striving to hold the big trophy and big check at the end of the night. That night came this week, as Kelly claimed the lead on lap three then endured a stop-start-stop-start spin fest in the middle of the main to claim his second career victory. Shaun Holtorf was second and Brandon Turner took third. Turner, JR Thomas, Spud Allen and Dougie James took heat race wins. Brock Lemley set quick time.

Steven Hendrickson dominated the 1200 main event as he visited victory lane for the first time in 2011. Hendrickson planted his right rear tired firmly against the cushion and rode around second place finisher Eric Turner to take the lead on lap two and lead the rest with little challenge. Jason Bloodgood finished third. Derek Holmwood, Eric Turner and Clennon Holloway won the heats. Aaron Fell was quick time.

Spencer Constance found victory lane in the 600 Restricted division, but he had to work hard to secure the win. Coming to the white flag, Derrick Moss had made his way up from his eighth place starting position and maneuvered his way to the inside of Spencer coming off of turn four. The two cars made contact down the front straight away, with both drivers doing their best not to spin ad stop on the track. Constance managed to straighten his car while Moss came to a stop. On the restart, Spencer held off Hannah Lindquist and Alden Ostrom to take his first win in the class. Rachel Westmoreland, Kyle Mitchell and Travis Carpenter won the heat races and Derrick Moss was the fast qualifier.

Lynden Lebedinski won his second feature in a row in the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprint division. Lynden acquired the lead on lap two after early race leader Isaac Abenroth flipped wildly into turn one. From there, Lynden held off a strong challenge from JJ Thomas to take the win, his second straight. Darius Walker rounded out the podium in third. Isaac Abenroth and Ashleigh Johnson were heat race winners. Eli Schmidt set quick time.
