SARATOGA JUNE 11

#24 Charlie Ackerman dominated the Bomber car class to pick up the 30 lap feature race on Saturday. The I.M.C.A Modifieds and the Dwarf cars filled out the rest of the racing card.

#8 Brad Purdy had a great day in the I.M.C.A Modified division, picking up 3 wins out of 4 races. Although Purdy had such a dominating night, #53 Kevin Noble set a new track record in qualifying, with a time of 15.612; the old track record was held by #91 Chris Beaulieu, with a time of 15.642. Purdy picked up the win in the Dash, and dominated the first of 2 heats, leading all 8 laps. The reverse heat saw Noble take the lead from #32 Dano Bryant on the first lap and never look back. The 15 lap feature saw Purdy and Noble battle for the lead for 10 laps. On lap 10, Noble clipped the back end of Purdy, which gave Noble a flat time and causing him to fall out of contention for the win. Purdy would go on to take the win, with 2nd going to Bryant, and 3rd to Noble.

A wreck last weekend caused a smaller field of Dwarf cars on Saturday. Fast time ion qualifying went to #24 Jim Pridge, setting a time of 15.798. The B dash was won by #9 Tyler Peters, and the A went to #5 Carl Carlson Jr., who was filling in for Bruce Garside on the night. The first of 2 heats saw #8 Bob Pridge lead until lap 6, when his younger brother #24 Jim Pridge took the lead and the eventual win. The reverse heat saw #9 Tyler Peters start on the pole and stretch his lead from there, taking the win. The 20 lap feature saw #24 Jim Pridge work his way from the back to the front in only 5 laps. Pridge would stretch his lead from there. 2nd went to #9 Tyler Peters, and 3rd to #8 Bob Pridge.

#33 Brian Baltis made a surprise return on Saturday. Baltis took 4 years off of racing. Fast time in qualifying went to #99 Gilles Cyr who set a time of 17.705. The B dash went to #5 Darren Larson, and after some controversy, the A dash win went to #72 Travis Stevenson. The first 12 lap heat Baltis start on the pole. Baltis spread his lead from there and managed to hold of the rest of the field to take the win. The reverse 10 lap heat saw #72 Travis Stevenson dominate the field, finishing the race with a half lap lead. The 30 lap feature saw #24 Charlie Ackerman take the lead on lap 5. Ackerman dominated from there, lapping 2 cars on his way to the win. 2nd went to #28 Mike Morningstar, and 3rd to #11 Justin Beaulieu.

Extra laps… Next weeks racing card will feature the Crash to Pass, Hornet Cars, and Roadrunners.
