The Roadrunner class raced their 4th race of the season on Saturday, with fast time on the night going to #19 Weston Lane who set a time of 19.399 in qualifying. #28 Andrew Buchanan won yet another dash on Saturday; Andrew has actually won every dash for the Roadrunner division this season. Buchanan also dominated the heat, taking the lead on lap 1, going on to win his 2nd race on the night. The feature race for the Roadrunner division had an interesting twist; #25 Andrea Cannon started a whole lap ahead, meaning that Buchanan and Lane would have to make up a whole lap to take the lead from Andrea. Buchanan once again proved why he’s the point’s leader in this division, managing to catch Andrea in 10 laps to take the lead and the eventual. Andrea finished 2nd and 3rd to Weston.
#72 Travis Stevenson had an amazing night in the Crash to Pass class. Fast time in qualifying on the night went to #40 Cam Edward who set a time of 18.535. Stevenson took the dash, leading the race flag to flag. Cam Edward led the heat for 6 laps until Stevenson caught him on the back stretch, spinning out Edward. Stevenson would go on to win the 10 lap heat, with 2nd going #00 “The General” Jeff May. The 15 lap main saw Edward once again lead the beginning of the race, but once again, Stevenson would catch him on lap 4 and take away the lead. Stevenson would battle hard with Jeff May the rest of the way but held him off to win his 3rd win out of 3 races on the night. 2nd went to Jeff May and 3rd to Cam Edward. Some amazing racing took place in the Bomber car division on Saturday. Co driver to the #11 Bomber car, Mike Dionne, set fast time in qualifying with a time of 17.692. The B dash went to #72 Travis Stevenson, who was racing two cars on the night. The A dash went to #90 Johnny Zanette. All 9 cars took to the track for the heat. #9 Darrell Larson led for 4 laps until Zanette took the lead and the eventual win. The 25 lap feature saw Larson once again take an early lead. Larson would lead up until lap 6, giving up the lead to #11 Mike Dionne. Mike would lead for the rest of the race and had the race won; but after the race was over, Dionne did not report to the tech pad, which under Speedway rules, calls for a Disqualification. #99 Gilles Cyr finished 2nd in the race, so the win went to him. 2nd went to #9 Darrell Larson, and 3rd to #72 Travis Stevenson who had himself quite the night.
The Hornet car division once again had a great field of cars on Saturday. Fast time in qualifying went to #21 Gord Fraser who set a time of 18.261. The D dash went to #28 Brianne Fenn, which was her first ever win at Saratoga Speedway! The C dash went to #81 Jeremy Stormo, B to #59 Ted Dimitrov, and A to #01 Kevin Lawrenuk. In the Hornet C heat, #81 Jeremy Stormo took an early lead and never looked back, taking the win. #34 Dave Hargraves led the B heat for 6 laps until #03 Jennifer Lawrenuk, who was sporting a new car on the night, took the lead and the eventual win. #08 Daryn Cahill led the A heat from start to finish, taking home the win. The 20 lap B feature saw #55 Trevor Dicus lead for 4 laps until eventual winner #88 Calvin Chamberlin took the lead. Calvin would battle off Dicus to take the win. Dicus would finish in 2nd, with 3rd going to #34 Dave Hargraves. The 30 lap A feature saw #20 William Boyes lead for 12 laps until #01 Kevin Lawrenuk took the lead coming out of turn 3. Lawrenuk would spread his lead from there and take the win. A little bit of drama at the end gave #08 Daryn Cahill 2nd, and #21 Gord Fraser 3rd.
