THE AMERICAN INVADER RETURNS TO CANADA

Cornelius, NC (July 6, 2011) Last year only one American, Jason Bowles, raced in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. During his second-place run in the 2010 Toronto race he was dubbed the "American Invader" by TSN's television commentators. This weekend, the Invader is back with Gaunt Brothers Racing and will bring the No.11 Fuel Doctor Dodge Avenger to the streets of Toronto for another chance at a Canadian trophy.

Bowles, who in three NCATS events captured top-three finishes in two and looked to have Montreal won until the final corner, has one thing on his mind...

"Yes, winning," said Bowles emphatically. "Last year in Canada I was playing catch-up a little trying to get used to the car's brakes and learning the tracks every time we went to an event. This year I feel like heading to Toronto I have a race under my belt there and I know the track. It doesn't exactly make it any easier, the same guys are going to be tough, but at least it's not like riding around on the ATV before practice and seeing the track for the first time like it was last year."

Since GBR and Bowles left off in 2010 with the NCATS Series, they have raced in a handful of 2011 K&N Pro Series races in the States, winning the season-opening Toyota All-Star Showdown at Irwindale Speedway in January.
"That was a big win for our team and a good day for the Canadians with (DJ) Kennington finishing second," said team owner Marty Gaunt. "We joke about how we're sort of a hybrid US-Canada team; we got our start running in the NCATS last year and really had a great time competing in Canada."
