The Brock Lemley – Brian Andrews connection is absolutely on fire at Deming Speedway, as Brock piloted Brian’s car to a clean sweep and his third straight win in the Speedmart Hoosier 600 division. Other feature winners included Tom Waggoner, Jacob Brown and Jake Helsel.
After sweeping through the main event action the previous weekend, Lemley picked right back up where he left off in the Hoosier Speedmart 600s, setting quick time, winning his heat race and leading all 25 laps of the main event despite heavy traffic over the back third of the race. Dustin O’Brien ran second and Phil Schemenauer was third. Cory Samuelson won the b feature. Other heat wins went to O’Brien, Schemenauer and Hayden Schmidt.
Tom Waggoner had things on cruise control in the 1200 division up until the very last laps. Waggoner led every lap until a late race restart gave Lemley a chance to possibly pull off another double winning night. On the lap 23 restart, Lemley pulled up dead even with Tom on the inside of turn two, but Waggoner found a little extra go juice up on the top side to clear Brock and set sail for the victory. Lemley finished second and Liam Ryan was third. Lemley set quick time. Heat wins went to Aaron Fell, Tyson Cross and Eric Turner.
Jacob Brown is now a three time winner at Deming Speedway in the 600 restricted division. Brown passed Hannah Lindquist on lap two and then held off all comers for the win in a caution filled main event that was shortened by one lap due to time. Derrick Moss was second and Brayden Planko recovered from an early race caution to take third. Moss was quick time. Heat wins went to Kelsey Carpenter, Spencer Constance and Brown.
Jake Helsel won his first career Deming Speedway feature by leading every lap of the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprint main event. Isaac Abenroth closed the gap late to finish second and Ashleigh Johnson, whose three race win streak came to an end, took a trophy for third. Ashleigh also set quick time. Heat wins went to Robie Price and Helsel.
