This Saturday Night at the fast 4/10th's mile paved oval in Langford, O'Dell Slinger Service presents Championship Night that will feature three exciting classes, the Island Series Stock Cars, IMS4 Mini Stocks and the Old Time Racing Association.
The Island Series Stock Car division is looking as if it will have a record setting five time Champion as Ryan Wade leads Duncan's leading Rookie of the Year contender Cody Aumen by 241 points, 1524 to 1283. Wade only needs to qualify and start the main to secure his fifth championship in a row. Aumen in his first year of competition is looking to win his first feature of the year and solidify his current second place in the point standings, Aumen also hopes to end Wade's main event winning streak at six. Dave Reside follows Aumen by 27 points at 1256 points, followed by Daryl Crocker with 1229 points and Chris McInerney with 1222 points.
Alex Mouner leads the IMS4 Mini Stock points standings on the strength of five featuire wins, Mouner leads Matt Szauer by 136 points 1775 to 1639 points, Justin Woodske moved into third position with 1556 points closely followed by Jeremy Waksel at 1550 and the team of Gord and Glen Percival round out the top five with 1448 points. , motorcycle powered cars that resemble the cars that raced at Western in the 50's and early 60's. Top drivers that include last race feature winner Sean Singer, along with Jim Pridge, Jeremy Stevens, Donnie Banansky and James Dorie will all be battling for the win.
The OTRA (Old Time Racing Association) will also be in action as they will run their final event of the season. Duane Zeinstra will be looking to make it two wins in a row after he found victory lane on September 3rd, Zeinstra can expect stiff competition from George "the Jet" Jenson as well as James Campbell.
