EDMONTON, AB - Where are we racing and how many races? These are two questions that are on the minds of Northern Provincial Pipelines Late Model Series race teams as the long off-season continues. "Good news," smiles NPP Series announcer Gord Craig, "I have two possible race dates to announce. The 2012 Gold Cup in Edmonton looks like it will be run on Friday, July 20th and Saturday, July 21st." The NPP Late Model made its Edmonton debut at the 1999 Gold Cup and has been the support class for the open wheel Sprint Car race ever since. "These two dates are written in pencil," admits Craig, "track officials say not to expect a complete tentative 2012 Oval schedule until late December early January." |
