The Bullring, Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s NASCAR-sanctioned 3/8-mile asphalt oval, will present its biggest race of the year this weekend. The annual Open Comp Fall Classic’s grand finale is Saturday’s 150-lap Super Late Model feature and the winner’s payoff has jumped from $7,777 to $10,000.
The Bullring’s annual finale routinely draws racers from California, Arizona and Colorado. Previous Open Comp winners include: Dustin Ash (2010), Justin Johnson (2009), Matt Jaskol (2008) and Taylor Barton (2007), all from Las Vegas.
The Open Comp’s $10,000 winner’s check has attracted entries from NASCAR Camping World Truck Series rookie Tyler Tanner of Rochester, Wash. and Colorado phenom Chris Eggleston. Eggleston recently won the 300-lap “The Race” at North Wilkesboro, N.C.
Saturday’s oval-track festivities also will include a 75-lap Lucas Oil Modifieds feature, Bombers, Late Models, and Legend Cars.
