In 1972 Herschel McGriff and Don
"Rebel" Selley who Ralph Monhay and I both crewed
for ,, had a TV show out of Salem Oregon,,
call Rebels All Star racing .. It was filmed on Tuesday
afternoon covering all the latest racing news from the weekend and
aired the following Saturday Morning ,, We used to tow the cars to
salem and use they as a background for the TV set while
Rebel and Herschel did the show ..
Herschel's car was painted up with the
same Rebel flag theme ( because Rebel was a Nashville Boy) as our
Tipke modified and I used to race a Jolopy at Portland
on Wed nites painted the same way,, The next year (73) Rebel ran the
Winston West series along with Herschel with cars provided by
McGriff with the number 07 Here are a few
pics of the ,,-- Rebel's Car Stereo Racing Team , Rebel
Selley and his 07 car in 73, RJ Dubonnet's 59 Buick Jalopy (
WonderHog) and the Rebel's Car Stereo Tipke Roadster at
Salt Lake City for the Copper Cup in 1972 ,, We won the
CAMRA ChampionShip that year
