There
is nothing quite like starting a year off with momentum in your favor,
and drivers using XXX chassis have found momentum on their side over the
past two weeks. Recent race winners include Danny Lasoski, Brent Marks,
Adam Wilt, Ryan Jones, Jeff Judd and Chad Sullivan. Race wins have come
from Florida, Central Pennsylvania (where XXX chassis have led almost
every lap of main event action) and Australia.
As
of this writing, there is no driver who has more wins in North America
than Dover, Missouri based Danny Lasoski in his XXX chassis. With
Florida now firmly in his rearview mirror, “The Dude” can look back on
this year’s Florida Speedweek(s) as one of his most successful trips to
the sunshine state ever. Lasoski left Florida with a World of Outlaws
feature win on the opening night of their 2012 campaign, and three All
Star Circuit of Champions victories over eight nights of racing at
Volusia Speedway and Bubba Raceway Park. The Dude pocketed over $25,000
in winnings over the two week span, all aboard his XXX chassis, the
latest of which came on 2/25 at BRP.
XXX
Chassis are 2 for 2 in Pennsylvania following this past Saturday’s
victory by Brent Marks at Lincoln Speedway. Following up on his second
place run from the season opener, Marks improved his finish by one spot
after taking the lead from fellow Team XXX driver Adam Wilt on his way
to victory lane. XXX chassis have led all but 8 main event laps of
Central PA competition in 2012. Congratulations Brent, Jeff and the rest
of the 19M team!
One
week prior, Former national 410 sprint car rookie of-the-year Adam Wilt
put a challenging 2011 season behind him by claiming the $3,500-to-win
“Icebreaker 30” at Lincoln Speedway on a Saturday afternoon. And he did
it in impressive style, passing polesitter Kevin Nouse on the eighth lap
and driving away through lapped traffic to register a 4.76-second win
over a late-charging Brent Marks. A night dominated by XXX as 4 of the
top 5 positions went to TeamXXX racers; Wilt, Marks, Brian Montieth and
Doug Esh.
Momentum
is a huge factor in any Sprint Car event, and Ryan Jones of Murray
Bridge, South Australia just found himself a big chunk of it with his
biggest event of the year on the horizon. On Saturday night February
25th, Jones parlayed his pole position into a twenty lap, wire to wire
victory over the 360 division at Speedway City in Adelaide, SA. The win
was the 20th career victory for the current Australian 360 National
Champion, with all 20 wins coming in XXX Chassis and Components. Ryan is
now preparing for this year’s 360 National championship, which is
coming up this weekend.
Jeff Judd and his XXX Chassis were the toast of the town on Saturday the 25th,
as the Victoria based driver won his local state championship in the
Wingless Sprint division. Racing at Warnambool’s Sungold Stadium in
Victoria AU, Judd bested a huge field of 65 wingless
sprint car racers to claim the championship. With 18 heat races, D-C-B
and A Mains, the tracks surface was challenged all night by the sprints,
but Judd managed to get his XXX glued to the ground well enough to move
from his 6th starting position into contention for the lead
early on. Executing a couple of perfect slide jobs, Judd took over the
lead then held off the field to claim his third state title in his XXX
Sprint Car.
In
600cc Micro Sprint action, Chad Sullivan found success on Saturday
night Feb 25th, piloting his XXX Micro Sprint to a win in Round 4 of the
Formula 500 Stampede Series at Ballarat’s Redline Raceway in Buninyong,
Victoria Australia. Sullivan built a commanding lead early in the race,
only to have the gap narrow in traffic. Following a yellow flag with
six laps left that bunched the field, Sullivan again extended his lead
in open air, taking the win by a full straightaway.
