| SPEED DEMON Stock car racing returned to the Merritt Speedway on the weekend for another exciting season of action around the oval. Above, Pinatan Lake’s Dennis Smith and his #42 car speed past the grandstand en route to a first-place finish in the Hobby class dash event on Saturday. Smith also claimed the five-lap dash event on Sunday. The weekend’s biggest winner, however, was Murray Jones from Langley, who went a perfect six-for-six in his Street class races.
