Kelly Hart

(Skagit Speedway) Memorial Day weekend means a lot of auto racing around the country and Skagit Speedway will be a big part of the tradition! The John Carroll Classic presented by Industrial Resources Inc. has become a very popular event in the Pacific Northwest. Industrial Resources Inc. has added several thousand dollars to the purse for the three sprint classes this weekend. The 410 class will pay $1800 to win, $1200 for 2nd, $1000 for 3rd and $350 to start. The Budweiser 360 division will pay $1500 to win, $1000 for 2nd, $700 for 3rd and $250 to start. The Cook Road Shell Sportsman division will pay $500 to win $300 for 2nd, $250 for 3rd and $160 to start.

Industrial Resources Inc. from Clear Lake WA. has honored it's friend, former co-worker and fellow racer 'Big John' Carroll for many years. "John was a great racer and a good friend to many of us" said IRI CEO Jay Follman, "He was a real racer from the old school, he would load up his trailer and van and head out to Ascot one week and then Montana the next".

On the race card this weekend with the sprint cars and Outlaw Hornets will also be the inaugural USAC Focus Midget event. This will be the first of four events this season to see who will be crowned the first Skagit Speedway USAC Focus Midget Champion.

Grandstands open at 5:30 and racing at 7:00pm. For more info log onto www.skagitspeedway.com.
