In their first race of the season the Kalispell Toyota Super Late Models came out fighting.  Braeden Havens set fast time in the division with a 13.002.  Jeff Little took the trophy dash win.  In the B heat race Giles Thornton made a good showing and headed off Todd Havens to take the checkers.  In the A heat Dave Garber edged out Bodie Morton.  In the 100 lap main, Corey Wolfe started on the pole position with David Garber on his outside.  Garber quickly jumped into the lead and held onto first place until Wrango West started challenging for the lead.  The pair battled for five laps until a caution flag came out for debris on the track at lap 11.  With the cone restart coming out Garber and West lined up in the front row and challenged each other until lap 17.  West passed Garber and with a lot of open space setup a nice margin between himself and Garber.  Garber held strong and stayed in the top three.  This allowed Bodie Morton to move into second place and try to chase down West.  Half way through the main Alex Lessor and the 2011 Kalispell Toyota Super Late Model Champion Ryan Wells were coming on strong.  West kept his nice time margin over Morton until lap 67, when a late race caution came out for debris on the track.  This set up a late race charge as West and Morton lined up on the front row to have it out.  Morton took the high side and sailed around West to take the lead.  West continued to move back allowing Wells, Garber, and Lessor to move up.  Wells started his charge for the lead after taking second position on lap 75.  Wells’ late race push paid off for him in the final ten laps as he passed Morton on lap 90 and continued strong to the end.  In the end Wells took the checkers followed by Morton in second and Lessor in third.  After the first event in the six race series Wells leads by two points over Morton.
