With
a great crowd on hand, Johnny "The Jet" Giesler came home the big
winner this weekend for the Richlock Rentals sponsored Strawberry Cup
for Winged Sprint Cars. With a win on Friday Night and a third on
Saturday Night Giesler accumulated enough points for the two days to win
the Strawberry Cup. Victoria's Jeff Montgomery won Saturday's feature
and finished second in points behind Giesler. Dave
Emmerson from Nanaimo won both WILROC Wingless Sprint Car features,
while George Jenson and James Miller came home victors in the OTRA Old
Timers. Tovay Helegsen won the Dwarf Car feature on Friday Night for
her first ever main event win and Mike Meeres won the Saturday feature.
