Adam Ross, Director of Student Communications for RACE101 annnounced today that 19 year old Sarah Cornett-Ching of Summerland, British Columbia is the recipient of a yearly driver scholarship program for specially selected young drivers from Canada and the U.S.
Cornett-Ching races at Vernon`s Motoplex Speedway in the ARCA West Sportsman Series where she was recognized as the most improved driver in 2010 as well, she races in the West Coast Sportsman Series where she finished the 2010 season in fifth place overall driving a 2010 Aarons Dream Machine Cadillac CTS. Sarah also intends to run two races in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, in Vernon and Saskatoon, pending finding sponsors. The NASCAR series is the only national championship series held in Canada with races from Nova Scotia to British Columbia.
The RACE101 scholarship program lasts over the course of a year, with proven teaching and coaching methods that give the students one on one time with instructors, classroom time and track time with hands on experience as well as homework assignments. Cornett-Ching will be travelling from her home racing territory in British Columbia to North Carolina several times over the next year to take advantage of her scholarship opportunity. Sarah attends Okanagan College in Kelowna, British Columbia where she is completing her second level welding certification.
