Langford, B.C. - Western Speedway, Western Canada's oldest track, would like to invite you to the Grand Opening of the 2011 race season. It all begins Saturday, April 2nd and features the Demo Cars, Demo Trucks, Figure 8s, and the Bombers. Gates open at 5PM, Time Trials at 6PM, and hard hitting, flat out racing at 7PM.
Last season's Champions, from each class, will receive their Championship trophies on this night as well.
For those who attended the Victoria Auto Racing Hall of Fame Induction ceremonies, you received a free ticket to watch the O.T.R.A. class run for the Hall of Fame / Haslam Memorial Trophy scheduled for May 21st. Also on this card is the WilRoc Lites and the Stock Cars so it should be a great night of racing.
More excitement with the Monster Trucks, Big Rigs, Jet Car, Double Car jumps, School Bus race, Sprint Cars, and WilRoc Lites are set to compete in 2011. The Strawberry Cup and Daffodil Cup, with the NSRA, are on the schedule along with the ASA BC Late Model Series competing in the Canada 200.
Stock Cars, Mini Stocks, and the Dwarf cars will again be at the track throughout 2011. The ever popular Hornet Series will begin a new season in June and will run Wednesday nights until late August so there is lots of excitement to look forward too. Again, Western Speedway will host another "Princess and Pirates" nights for the kids on May 28th. There will be something for everyone throughout 2011.
