Once again, Mother Nature washed out a great projected night of racing at Saratoga Speedway. A pit full of Vintage Old Timers, Bombers, Motorcycles and I.M.C.A Modifieds got denied of the first night of racing on the 2011 schedule. Marine Harvest was our sponsor on the night, which marks the first time they have ever sponsored a night of racing at Saratoga Speedway.
Next weekend marks the first appearance of the Monster Trucks at Saratoga Speedway this 2011 season. California Kid and Rockstar will be rocking the house next weekend. These 2 trucks both rolled over last year, which was one of the most exciting things you will ever see at a race track! California Kid is driven by 32 year old Garrett Ladelle. His truck has a 1934 Ford Sedan body, and has a 482 c.i. BBC engine. Bill Payne is the driver of Rockstar; Bill lives in Bremerton Washington, and his truck has a 2004 Custom Chevy Silverado Body. These 2 trucks have traveled all around the world; have competed on many world circuits, and are regarded as 2 of the best up and coming drivers. Also on next weekends racing card are the Tuff Trucks. In previous years, the Tuff Trucks course has consisted of a big mud pit located on the back of the track, but this year they will be flying over our big bus jump located on the back off of the track. Due to the Bomber cars getting rained out this Saturday, there double point’s night will be moved to next weekend.
The Dwarf Cars will be making there first appearance of the 2011 racing season on May 28th, accompanied by the I.M.C.A Modifieds, Hornet Cars, and the Motorcycles. June 25th marks the first appearance for the Wilroc Sprint Cars and the Wilroc Lites; the I.M.C.A Modifieds will accompany them on that night. Make sure to mark your calendars for these special race events.
