The always popular Late Models will take to the track for their second points event of the year, Courtney’s Bart Smith will be looking to make it two wins in a row after winning first Late Model event on April 30. With the win Smith is the current point’s leader by a slim 1 point margin over Geoff Morris 212 to 211. Vancouver’s Jason Terasenko holds down third position with 208 points, followed by Brandon Carlson with 294 and Mike Schott with 175.
In the Island Stock Car Series division there will be a new winner on Saturday night as Kirt Rompain who won the last main event on April 30, will hand over the driving duties back to four time and defending Stock Car champion Ryan Wade, Garrett Smith will be back in the car that won the opener with his cousin Rory Smith driving. Last year’s runner up driver Aaron Wilke is the current point’s leader with 361 points, followed closely by the much improved Dave Reside who has 350 points. Wade sits in third with 321 points followed by Mike Derepentany with 317 and Dan Myers with 314.
Alex Mouner will be trying to score the hat trick as he goes for his third main event win in a row on Saturday Night in the IMS4 Mini Stock Division. Mouner will have stiff competition from fellow drivers Glen Percival, Matt Szauser, Justin Woodske and Jeremy Waksel.
The Island Dwarf Car Club returns for their second event of the year with Nanaimo’s Jim Pridge leading the way, Pridge won the opening race of the season on April 16th, over Mike Schott and Bruce Garside.
