The ARCA OK Tire sportsman series rolled into Prince George under the bright northern sky for the third of the six race series. Sixteen sportsman cars started the day. Unfortunately, the 52 of Garnet Grimard was out early in practice with an engine issue. The fifteen remaining cars put on the show of the night. Mark Berriau started by breaking the track record held by Kalvin Loudoun. Berriau’s time was a 16.644. The B heat was won by Dave Olsen, and Trevor Adelman scored his first ever A heat win. The main was fast and furious. The field battled hard with Olsen and the 92 MacCarthy Motors Chevrolet driven by Logan Jewel fighting feverishly for the lead. The epic battle became the epic wreck of the night. As the two battled, they split the 37 car off of turn four. The 37 and 71 cars connected and the 71 car flipped onto its roof and slid the length of the straightaway. Olsen was able to climb out, unhurt. The car unfortunately heavily damaged. The race continued as past ARCA champion Mark Berriau worked his way through the field. A late race caution left a green, white, and chequered. Berriau was able to hold off a hard charging Logan Jewel to win. In the last lap battle, the 22 car of Chris Babcock grabbed second and Bob Mear third. Jewel making the best of a high side restart held fourth and the 1 car of Matt Stephenson rounded out the top five.submitted by Kendal
