Brock Lemley visited victory lane twice this past Friday night at Deming Speedway on Pepsi Night. Lemley ended up bringing home trophies in both the 1200 and Speedmart Hoosier 600 division. Jacob Brown won for the second time in the 600 restricted class. Ashleigh Johnson won for the second week in a row in the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprints.
Driving the Brian Andrews #10 in the Speedmart Hoosier 600 class, Lemley’s win in the 600 division came via a huge slingshot move around then race leader Kelly Mauck in turns one and two on lap 14. Lemley would then streak away from the field for the victory, followed by JR Thomas and Mauck. Dustin O’Brien was quick time. Brandon Turner won the B feature. Heat wins went to Spud Allen, Alex Gauthier, Hayden Schmidt and Lance Sargent.
In the 1200 class, it was Aaron Fell’s race to lose until a lapped car spun in front of him on lap 20, collecting Aaron with him. This handed the lead to Brock who held on to collect the first of his two wins on the night. He was followed to the final flag by Jared Gunderson and Brad Davison. Brock set quick time. Liam Ryan and Brandon Benson won the heats.
Jacob Brown found himself at the right place at the right time in the 600 restricted division, as he was handed the lead following Derrick Moss’ dust up with a lapped car. Brown led from lap 14 to the checkered on lap 25, followed by Austin Sheridan and Ashley Thompson, who came from 14th to take third. Sheridan set quick time and heat wins went to Hannah Lindquist, Moss, and Brandee Wood.
Ashleigh Johnson continued the #0 car tear in the northwest, winning the Kasey Kahne Junior Sprint main for the second straight week. Ashleigh got by JJ Thomas on lap nine to take the win, followed to the line by Thomas and Jake Helsel. Eli Schmidt was the quick qualifier. Johnson and Thomas won the heats.
