At ASA member track Skagit Speedway the 2011 Foothills Toyota Tundra Racing Series season has come to and end. Under the constant threat of rain and cold weather the 2011 Season Championship race was run at Skagit Speedway Saturday night.
The 410 season championship main event was won by season champion Jesse Whitney. Whitney took over the lead on lap 10 after a lap 9 yellow flag for race leader Travis Jacobson sent the #18 Shaylen Raye Motorsports car to the back of the pack after a spin. Whitney led the final 15 laps for the win holding off the challenges of WoO veteran Toni Lutar and hard charging Jacobson at the checkered flag. In the 410 scramble earlier in the evening Jacobson beat Whitney, Barry Martinez, Jason Bloodgood and Jonathan Jorgenson to earn the pole position for the main.
The Budweiser 360 season champion is Travis Jacobson who led all 25 laps of the main event for the win. One racing yellow on lap 22 closed the field but Jacobson had the field covered to capture his second track championship. Jacobson also won the scramble.
Brandon Harkness won the Scramble for the Cook Road Shell Sportsman Sprints setting up his win in the 20-lap main event. There was plenty of action in the Sportsman main with Derek Roberts coming from 7th to third place and Bill Rude flipping on the front stretch on lap 7. Derek Roberts captured the drivers championship in his rookie season.
All season long it has been the Freddy Vela show in the Outlaw Hornet division. Vela won the scramble and the main event in capturing his first Outlaw Hornet championship.
