September 18, 2011. Racer Jason White and the #21 A & W Dodge team were anxious to put a difficult week behind them and return to action for round eleven of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at Riverside International Speedway in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. Unfortunately not all of tough luck was behind them.
Forced to a backup car after a hard crash destroyed their primary race car a week ago, the #21 A & W Dodge team worked hard during the afternoon practice session. “The car felt a little different and I think part of it was me getting used to it as well” said White.
The #21 A & W Dodge team continued to work hard and White claimed the inside row seven starting spot for the 300 lap feature event. “We haven’t had a lot of success at this track in the past but I love racing here” said White. “I felt good heading into the race” he added.
White positive outlook would change with a strange happening. “We broke all the studs on the right front tire” said White. “It’s just how things have been for us on some of the ovals this year” he stated.
Despite losing the right front tire White would coax the #21 A & W Dodge to pit lane and the attention of the team. “The Drive Thru Crew got a new tire on and checked for other damage” said the driver. “When I got back out there the car wasn’t too bad” he said.
Regrettably White’s difficulties in the #21 A & W Dodge were not over. He would again come to pit road with an ill handling race car. The team determined that the suspension in the rear of the car was damaged and despite their efforts they were unable to continue. “It was another tough day but we’re going to put it behind us and everyone is determined to head to Kawartha Speedway next week and finish the season with a strong run” said White.
Even with his difficulties in round eleven, Jason White sits eighth in the overall championship standings.
