2012 Race Schedule
2 Countries - 3 States – 6 racetracks – comprise 2012 race schedule
Portland, OR - February 29, 2012 - The American Speed Association/Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association (ASA/NSRA) is excited to finally announce its race schedule for 2012. The winged sprinters will run a 9-race schedule at 6 different racetracks, in 3 Northwestern states and Canada. Track lengths vary from the shortest at just .25 mile to the longest track at .686 mile.
For the first time in ASA/NSRA’s history the organization will be co-sanctioning two events in the inaugural year of the Canadian-American Western Winged Sprints; the Diamond Cup June 1st and 2nd and the Super Shoe Show July 20th and 21st.
June 1st & 2nd - Season opener - Diamond Cup Meridian Speedway - Meridian, Idaho
June 16th -Motoplex Speedway - Vernon, BC, Canada
June 30th - Douglas County Speedway - Roseburg, Oregon
July 20th & 21st -Stateline Speedway Super Shoe Show - Post Falls, Idaho -

July 28th - Evergreen Speedway Rory Price Memorial - Monroe, Washington
August 25th - South Sound Speedway - Tenino, Washington
September 15th - Douglas County Speedway Championship Night - Roseburg, Oregon
Expected to battle for the ASA/NSRA title in 2012 is returning 2011 champion Sierra Jackson in the #25j car, 2010 champion Andy Alberding in the #76 car, 2008 and 2009 champion Matt Hein in the #98h car, Jeff Montgomery 2006 champion in the # 33J car, Todd Coleman in the # 44 car, Chris Schmelzle in the # 25z car, and Greg Middendorf in the #4 car.
ASA/NSRA is the most exciting opened wheel racing on the west coast and by far the fastest. NSRA drivers currently hold 22 all time track records at venues throughout the region. These are open wheeled, winged sprint cars running on pavement utilizing 700 plus horsepower alcohol-burning engines running on oval tracks that vary in length from quarter mile to five-eights mile facilities.
