#02 Daryl Cahill dominated the 35 lap feature for the Hornet Cars on Saturday, leading all but 4 laps and taking home his second straight main event win, inching his way closer to catching his brother #08 Daryn Cahill for 1st overall in the points race. The I.M.C.A Modifieds, Bomber cars and the Motorcycles were also on the racing card on Saturday.

The Motorcycles were up in bikes on Saturday, with a field of 6 taking to the track. #68 Bruce Moran once again dominated the Motorcycle division on Saturday, setting fast time in qualifying with a time of 23.120. From that point on Moran had no competition, taking home wins in the dash, heat and leading all but 4 laps in the main event to win every race in the Motorcycle division. So far this season, Moran has won 6 of 7 races, proving that you're going to have to bring your best to beat him.

The I.M.C.A Modifieds made their second of the year on Saturday. #00 Bart Smith once again set fast time with a time of 15.312. Smith took home the win in the dash, with a hard fought win in the heat going to #53 Kevin Noble. 7 cars took to the track for their 30 lap feature race. #44 Tim Openshaw battled Smith, Noble and others to hold his lead for the first 20 laps. A lap car on lap 20 caused Openshaw, #98 Pat Brown and Smith to go 4 wide down the back stretch, with Smith coming out of it in 1st place, dropping Openshaw into 3rd place. Smith would pull away from the pack from there, taking home his 2nd main event win of the year. Brown, Noble and Openshaw fought for 2nd, 3rd and 4th for the final 15 laps, with 2nd place eventually going to Brown, leaving Noble in 3rd, and Openshaw in 4th.

The Bomber cars were also making their second appearance of the year on Saturday. Fast time in qualifying went to #98 Bobby Cyr who set a time of 17.677. The B dash was won by #46 Ryan Monks, which was his first win of the year; #72 Stewart Lee took home the win in the A dash. #29 Gilles Cyr battled his way from the back to win his first race of the year in the 10 lap heat race. #5 Darren Larson got out to an early lead in the 30 lap feature. Larson held his lead for the first 10 laps until #72 Stewart Lee fought his way around the outside of Larson coming out of turn 4 to take the lead. Lee had no competition from there, stretching his lead over #29 Gilles Cyr to over half a lap and eventually taking home the win. This is Lee's second main event win of the season, proving that the former Bomber champion is back and is still one of the best drivers in the class. Cyr would take home 2nd with 3rd place going to #11 Mike Dionne.

The Hornet cars were racing for the second weekend in a row on Saturday. #07 Brandon Phillips set fast time in qualifying with a time of 18.273. The Hornet cars had 3 dashes on Saturday, with the C going to #59 Mike Ryce, the B going to #14 Kyle Fallowfield and finally the A going to #08 Daryn Cahill. #81 Jeremy Stormo battled his way from the back to win the B heat, with the A heat going to #01 Kevin Lawrenuk. The 35 lap feature main event was dominated by #02 Daryl Cahill who was relatively quiet all night up until the main event. Daryl took the lead on lap 4 and stretched his lead from there, lapping several cars in his path. #01 Kevin Lawrenuk tried to keep up with Cahill but was never able to make a pass on him. Kevin and Jennifer Lawrenuk would battle for 2nd and 3rd with brother Kevin eventually taking home 2nd, with 3rd going to Jennifer.

Extra laps...Next weekend Marine Harvest will be sponsoring a great night of racing featured by the Crash to Pass cars, Roadrunners and the Hornet cars. June 16th will be featuring our annual Car tossing competition, which is one of the more popular events at the Speedway. The record for the car tossing competition is 64 feet 6 inches set back in 2008; the Crash to Pass cars, Hornet cars and Roadrunners will also be on the racing card, so make sure to mark your calenders for these great race nights and many others this season.
