THUNDER VALLEY CASINO RESORT 200

NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Sonoma, Calif. - KEVIN GREEN

SONOMA, Calif. – Brandon Davis captured his first career Coors Light Pole Award in NASCAR K&N Pro Series West qualifying at Infineon Raceway on Friday.

His lap of 77.984 seconds (91.865 mph) around the 1.99-mile Northern California track was quickest of the 41 drivers who set the field for Saturday’s Thunder Valley Casino Resort 200.

Davis, who was 10th quickest in practice earlier in the day, is part of a contingent of drivers who compete part-time in the series primarily on the road course events. Two of his five previous series starts came at Infineon, with his best finish being third place in this event a year ago.

Davis edged NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regulars Joey Logano and David Gilliland, who were second and third, respectively. They were followed by three-time series champion Eric Holmes and Luis Martinez Jr. David Mayhew, who was quickest in practice earlier in the day, was sixth in qualifying. He was followed by point leader Greg Pursley, Jim Inglebright, Paulie Harraka and Dylan Kwasniewski.

Officials announced on Friday that all 41 cars entered for the race will start, with the green flag scheduled to wave at 12:45 p.m. PT Saturday afternoon.
